Food, Water and the Philip Project
Posted by Kerry Henderson on Monday, February 2, 2009 at 10:07 AM (PST)
The past two weeks have been a wonderful time for me as I have been able to see a water project and a feeding project accomplished in the Biong area of Sudan! It was great to be there while these projects were going on and to hear the buzz of the happy people knowing that they would soon have clean water and food to eat after many months of living in flood waters.
These past two weeks have also been wonderful because I finally got the Philip Project up and running. God has sent us five Godly men who are eager to learn Bible stories and eager to serve Him in southern Sudan. We have been meeting on Sunday afternoon for the past three Sundays and they are doing a great job learning and dialoging the stories. As I listen to them tell the
stories from memory and the enthusiasm they have to tell the greatest story that has ever been told, I am just overwhelmed at how good our God is and look forward to how He is going to use these men to get His Word to the peoples of southern Sudan. I also can now begin to see which of the men are gifted for the five positions they will fill - pastor trainer, water project leader, educational leader, health leader and compound manager. God really knows what He's doing and I'm so glad that He lets me be a little part of His big plan! Please continue to pray for the members of the Philip Project - David, Bosco, Aggrey, Eddie, and Clinton. Pray that they will continue to be faithful to their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
